Instructions
Soak the Ancho and Guajillo chilies in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove the stems, seeds, and veins.
In a skillet over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds, peanuts, and almonds until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the raisins and toast until they puff up. Remove and set aside.
In a blender, add the soaked chilies, onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, oil, tomatoes, tomato paste, cinnamon, ground cloves, allspice, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, chicken broth, and toasted ingredients. Blend until smooth.
Transfer the mole sauce to a medium saucepan and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the tortilla chips and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
